The hat tip for this post goes to LGF reader John Williams in Texas. The company that published Scott McClellan’s new Bush-bashing book is Public Affairs Books, and their Editor at Large is a guy named Peter Osnos: About The Century Foundation. The owner of Public Affairs Books is a company called Perseus Book Group. Here’s their ownership tree: Perseus Books Home.

The firm is owned by Perseus Funds Group, (holding company Perseus LLC) a capital management firm that grew from about $20 million in 1995 to over $2 billion now. Big infusions of cash seemed to help it grow exponentially and it closed funds almost as fast as it opened them. The board has tons of liberals from the Clinton and Carter Administrations with credentials that almost put Osnos’ to shame as far as far left causes go. Good find. Saw Arnie Schweizer on the Fox New Channel this am. He kept saying how disappointed he was in Scott McClellan. Very telling was his comment that McClellan had told him recently how there was extensive editing going on.

He said something that others thinking of selling out should contemplate----that his lib friends will last for maybe an hour or so---but McClellan had burned all his conservative bridges.

How many will employ someone like McClellan who has no loyalty or sense of the truth?

One has to wonder how extensive the editing was. It will be interesting if McClellan recants anything that's in the book or claims that his copy was changed by the editors, but the more likely answer is that he simply sold out for Soros' cash.

Funny how when Richard Mellon Scaife was roundly villified by the left for bankrolling publications that criticized the Clintons, but when a predatory capitlist who makes his money by crashing currencies (and destroying the savings of people who work for a living) does the same thing, only far more extensively, they have no problem with it.
