We could say they are spending like drunken sailors. That would be unfair to drunken sailors, they're spending their OWN money.

You might be right. I know the Glenn Beck crowd loves to see any socialist, thinking that it confirms all their paranoid fantasies, but in reality it's not that special. Yes there are socialists, so what is your point? This isn't 1962 anymore, the communists no longer pose an existential threat to the US. There is no Soviet Union anymore, so there's no need to have a knee-jerk reaction to communism. Red Dawn isn't gonna happen.

Yes there are socialists in the US, yes there are communists. For the most part, these are extremely marginalized groups with very little power. The US doesn't even have an organized labor party like most industrialized nations.

When it comes to giving out bank bailouts or cutting workers' rights to collectively bargain, you better believe that socialists and communists are going to be speaking out.

The only surprising thing is that they are willing to be so obvious about it. Of course, since the MSM won't report their presence, I guess it shouldn't be surprising.

Why is it surprising? Being a socialist isn't like being a gay guy in a small rural town. There's no shame in supporting workers, there's no shame in recognizing the inherent flaws in Capitalism and working towards solving those problems. There were a lot of Cold War propagandists who made it their job to equate Capitalism and Freedom in the public consciousness, there was a lot of money and power used to convince Americans during the Cold War that anything related to communism was a Threat To Freedom. This is just propaganda.

Like I said, it's not 1962 anymore, it's not the McCarthy era anymore, there is no Soviet Union anymore.

Socialists and Communists just want to make this nation a better place, just want to keep improving it, like I assume everyone does. They just have different ideas about where societal problems come from and the solutions to those problems. They have no reason not to be "obvious" about it.

The Socialist, Communist, and Labor movements in the United States are a very important part of our history. Open up a history book it's all there.

The Neo-nazis show up at Anti-immigration rallies in California and Arizona. While some on the Left like to go accuse Minutemen and Secure Borders folks of being white nationalists, and while some white nationalists are indeed Minutemen or similar, it doesn't mean that they are Nazis, neo or otherwise.
