    Gingrich!/!
Can he out debate the 0 !!!

Will he be our best bet!?

I don't like him. It happened after I read a book by Tom Colburn after he got in with the contract with america bathch of repubs. According to Tom, Newt was a player.

If Gingrich is our best bet, then we are totally screwed.
He is, to use the words of Mike Church, a decepticon hack.
I would rather see the party nominate a true conservative (although with the names being bandied about I am not sure who that would be) and lose on conviction than run a Gingrich or Romney and win on conservative fraud.

Gingrich makes me want to puke. He does not understand what loyalty is and what principles are. I'd rather see 4 more years of Obama than 1 minute of Gingrich.

I wouldn't go that far. No one can be as bad for our country as the O. Gingrich is smart and would do a better job, but don't think his strong suits are loyalty or principles.

We can do better. He would be good as a strategist, though, and could see him in some sort of consultive position.

sadly this is the mess we've gotten ourselves in by not having elected many very good Conservatives over the last 20 years. there are a few but many of them are choosing not to run in 2012.

Newt was once a rebel. Now that has lost it's luster. He sold us short with the Contract for America and I won't fall for that again. We are better off purging many of these old gaurd sellouts that had there chance to make a difference and refused.

Newt and the O would conduct a love in debate. What is needed is someone who want to bust the O's balls.
    Palin can do that.

There are some big guns out there like Thune, Daniels, Bush, and Perry to name a few. They are waiting for 2016, in my opinion (I realize that is subject to change). I believe they see the electoral math. If you see them get into the race, I think that is an indication that Obama is vulnerable. If they sit out, the Republicans will be offering up a sacrificial lamb so it might as well be from the so-called tea party wing of the Republican Party.

It could backfire, though. A couple years before the 1992 campaign, Bush looked like he was untouchable and it was supposed to be a big Democratic fail so all we really got was Tsongas and Clinton. The big guns of the time sat out.

I don't blame Newt for taking a shot if no one else will step up to the plate.

I've heard that before, and think it's bullshit. Daniels has said he would jump in unless another viable candidate came out (he hinted it was someone in particular but made no mention of who).

Bush is a nonstarter, he might jump in, but he wont go anywhere.

Thune wants to stay in the Senate and it probably has more to do with his family than anything else.

Rick Perry wont go anywhere either.

Obama is vulnerable, there is no doubt about that (except from lefty morons and MSM). It has less to with his vulnerability and just the overall lack of quality candidates
