That's almost as dumb as icecaps determining the shape of the earth!

Icecaps! A more powerful force than GRAVITY!

A pretty business indeed for a man to be allowed eight hundred thousand sterling a year for, and worshipped into the bargain! Of more worth is one honest man to society and in the sight of God, than all the crowned ruffians that ever lived."

To their credit there are a lot of DUmmies mocking the people who think this has anything to do with the earth being pissed of about global warming or drilling oil wells.

    Good find - it's a fun read.

    31. The moon is a harsh mistress. Heinlein warned us, but did we listen? No!

We sowed the wind, and now we reap the whirlwind...
LMAO...wow...one of these dunderheads actually read Heinlein...wonder if they realize that he was a HUGE Conservative and would have laughed in all their faces.

    216. actually the shape of the earth is affected by the moon,

slightly - tends to bulge somewhat when the orbit of the moon is closer to the earth. Saw it on PBS. I have no idea whether massive amounts of melting ice would have an effect or not. Where's a geophysicist when we need one...
LOL, nice...cuz PBS is their Pat Roberts

From the sources the above DUmmie linked to:

The record-depth Kola Borehole used non-rotary mud motor drilling to achieve a depth of over 12,000 metres (39,000 ft)

Well... look at it this way, those people drilling in China are thousands of miles below the surface compaired to us. :p
In most sports, cold-cocking an opposing player repeatedly in the face with a series of gigantic Slovakian uppercuts would get you a multi-game suspension without pay.

In hockey, it means you have to sit in the penalty box for five minutes.

This is typical liberal human arrogance. We are but a mere blip in the grand scheme of things. Even if we set off all nuclear weapons simultaneously, the planet would be fine. We wouldn't, but the planet would be just dandy.

That kind off stupidity should be fatal...
