these two programs air at nearly the same time on their respective "news" networks:

We're not talking about which networks "shares your values" or which focus-grouped color-scheme makes your conditioned brain light up like a christmas tree, it's about which networks offer actual journalism, actual discussion, actual substance, actual information.
Fox News caters to the same type of people who like to shout at each other in real life (or on the internet) rather than actually talking, thinking, or debating.
this is a no-brainer. Fox is just entertainment mixed in with some sensationalist pictures.Originally Posted by Adam Smith - Wealth of Nations

It's not just about bias. Everyone hones in on bias as if that's the only thing that can ruin journalism.
You can have a fairly unbiased news report that features hot fashion tips, the top 10 hip hop songs, and a debate on whether cats or dogs are better, and that doesn't make it quality journalism just because "both sides are represented".
First of all, not every issue can be dumbed down to "two sides", as American media outlets always portrey them.
Second, simply the amount of coverage certain stories get are a form of bias.
Third, if you look at those videos you'll see that my criticism is not (right now) about the Bias of fox news, just their total lack of journalistic intergrity and their obvious goal of being the MTV of news by having the hottest women, the brightest colors, and the loudest shouting contests.
You will never see a 20-minute in-depth discussion on a topic that goes beyond soundbites and talking points on fox news, but this is a regular occurance on foreign media networks because sometimes it takes more than 3 minutes and a snarky comment to understand an issue.Originally Posted by Adam Smith - Wealth of Nations
