Too quickly? Try too late. By dithering for several weeks before taking action, Obama guaranteed that it would fail.

So we are back to "dithering."

Tell me, prior to the collapse of the opposition (or rebels, if you like) and the tanks lining up to supposedly slaughter civilians, when was there a serious humanitarian crises requiring international intervention?

Obama did not "dither." And the lack of "dithering" on the part of Europe, especially France, has brought us to where we are.

So Qaddafi is a bad guy and no one likes him? Let's dither on that awhile before we start popping off ordinance.

Again, you miss my point. If you are going to do something, then do it. If you aren't, don't. If you commit to a course of action too late for it to be effective, then you have the worst of both worlds. Obama committed to suppressing Qaddafi's forces too late to prevent their victory, which means that he's just lost a war that he didn't have to fight. If he'd stayed out, he'd have had compelling reasons to do so. If he'd acted earlier, he might have made the case that it was a just cause. But doing a half-assed, kinda-sorta, "well... maybe", "let me stick my toe in and see what the temperature is", "what are the allies doing?" "Can I get back to you after I finish my NCAA picks?" "I'll be back from Brazil soon", excuse for an attack, he has done the one thing that he shouldn't have done, which is committed to an obvious failure. This is what incompetence looks like.
