Cool and rainy with thunderstorms on The Mountain. More rain in the forecasst tomorrow.

My NCAA Brackett is totally busted.

    TOTD: Getaway Place.

Describe your ideal Getaway Place. Mountains? Seashore? City?

What type of structure? What kind of things to do?

I'd like a small house on a marsh in the low country of South Carolina. It would have a screened in porch, BBQ grill, plenty of bookshelves with a variety of books, A DSL connection and central heat and air, or really good window units for the AC.

Simple. Secluded. Decent kitchen. Nothing fancy.
Hey careful man! There's a beverage here!

    Recliner.
The difference between pigs and people is that when they tell you you're cured it isn't a good thing.

Chilly with possible snow this week and my bracket is doing fine with the exception of Wisconsin.

TOTD: Just somewhere away from people. Although there is nothing like a place on the beach even though I hate the beach. I love sitting on the patio with nothing but the sound of the waves.
The Obama Administration: Deny. Deflect. Blame.

    Hmmm, never cared for basketball.

TOTD: Shell Knob, Table Rock Lake, small unincorporated community with friendly folks.

It would be the mountains for me, with snow all over the ground.
I'd like a cozy cabin just remote enough so you can sit out on the
patio with a fire going and enjoy the quiet solitude, but close
enough in to a nice resort town that you have nice restaurants
and entertainment around if you want it. That's my idea of a nice
retirement home. Like around Lake Tahoe would be good.

Key West or Jamaica. A cottage with WiFi, beach or lagoon access, and jalosied windows.

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. To be your own man is hard business. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself." Rudyard Kipling - (1865-1936)

Check my home page - snow shovels were a waste of time!

I don't like The Beach but I love life on an island or beach community. I love to watch the waves and feel the breezes, from the comfort of a balcony or patio.

In a month or two we expect to be in Daytona, 23 stories above the beach that the hotel is on.
