Making drinks with liquid nitrogen.

Channel flipping, I came across some bartender guy who makes drinks with liquid nitrogen.

No, you don't drink it, the idea is that liquid nitrogen is cold enough to freeze alcohol.

He made gin & tonics...put Tanqueray in some silicon ice cube molds, submerged it in liquid nitrogen. The gin froze solid.

Added 4 gin cubes to a tall glass, filled with tonic and topped with lime.

Sounds GREAT to me. No water ice to dilute your drink, and it would be really cold on a hot summer day.


Anybody else see that show? Wonder what frozen Dickel cubes in Coke would be like?

We made ice from liquid nitrogen and paper cups of water in work.The problem is when you pour coke or other mixers over the cubes it is so explosively cold and can splatter the liquid all over you.Dry ice is much the same but is much safer to handle.

One would have to wait for the cubes to completely disolve or run the risk of the cube sticking to the inside of their mouth. And heaven help anyone stupid enough to chew on it or swallow it. Picture instant frost bite.....on your insides......
