I understand if you are a body builder but I am talking about 150 lb shrimps with shaved arms.

I was told its because it makes their arms look ripped.

If your arms dont look ripped with hair its because they are in fact ..... not ripped.

One does not greet death when he knocks at your door.

Nay you repeatedly punch him in the throat as he slowly drags you away.

Don't look at porn or personals. These people all shave everything.

I have wondered how that goes over in college sports and military gang showers. Here you have these macho men with shaved legs, chests, arms, pits, pubes, and private parts, but do they put their leg up on on the bench and shave their legs in front of every body or is it a private thing?

Ermm... I can't speak for everyone, but when I am in a group shower situation, my eyes are locked on the wall. They do not roam, let alone take time to see if someone else has "shaved".
In most sports, cold-cocking an opposing player repeatedly in the face with a series of gigantic Slovakian uppercuts would get you a multi-game suspension without pay.

In hockey, it means you have to sit in the penalty box for five minutes.

Well , it's been a long time since I was in a gang shower and not too many people had tattoos back then.

So, are you saying that admiring tattoos or squinting to read the text is bad form?

Doing it in the shower, yeah probably bad form. At least among us heterosexuals. ;)

I'm not sure what your referring to Zafod. Only thin guy I knew who did it was a wrestler, and I can kinda see why he'd do that. I've never paid much attention though, just nothing something that high on my list of things to look out for.
