Here's the thing. Do you stand on principle or do you pick a candidate that actually has a chance at winning? This is a big election year coming up with a lot riding on it. We can run a Tea Party candidate like Bachman but you stand to lose the independents. What you do is run a moderate as pres and a veep who is a Tea Party person. A Reagan is a once in a lifetime candidate and he ran at the right time. So, that said, who would be the choice?

There are years where it doesn't matter. 1976 was one of those years. 2008 was as well. 1980 too.

In those cases, winning your party's nomination (on the winning side) was the real battle.

As of today, that is not the case. Ham Sandwich is not in play.

I will stay home if Romney gets the nomination. If people are so f.....g stupid to vote for Obama again, then let the country go to hell in a hand basket. Then Palin or Bachmann can run as 3rd party candidates in 2016.
