Good bye Blue.
You were well loved and will be missed.

Thanks to everyone. Losing Blue was bitter, but we're grateful that we had the pleasure of his company for so long. His vet in St Louis thought he wouldn't survive---and that was almost 4 years ago. He's been living on borrowed time. It's just tough to let go.
I have to echo what Linda said - you gave him such a good life.
Sorry for your loss. I tend to let pets take a large place in my heart also. I always think of that old Twilight Zone about the hillbilly and the dog going to heaven. I have forgotten the name. All animal lovers should watch it.
Was that the one where he wouldn't enter heaven if his dog couldn't go, too?
BTW, how has everyone handled the pets who are left behind? Darlene has been acting very clingy. She's not her usual peppy self. She had been with Blue ever since she was rescued from the track. She is buddies with Xena and the two of them seem to hang out together more than usual.
Today she came into our bathroom and tried to look in the little linen closet. She also kept staring into the bathtib. She has never done that before.
This is so sad. I'm so sorry.
I finally figured out, on March 11, how difficult this will be for you. Until then, I had no idea, at all.
I am very sorry about Blue.
Just know that dogs do go to heaven.
