You are about to be dropped off in the wilderness within the temperate zone 100 miles from civilization, with only what you can wear for clothing and one tool or weapon (if firearm, fully loaded, no backup ammo). What would you wear and what tool/weapon would you select that you think would offer you the highest likelihood of getting back to civilization alive?

um...clothing depends on the time of year early spring/fall jeans, boots, long sleeve shirt and a jacket. Winter, as many damn layers as possible and still able to move quickly, summer, similar to spring, but a light jacket and t-shirt.

Tool would have to be a hatchet or mid-size ax, easy to carry, can be used as a weapon and used to make weapons and shelter as well as other tools

I would wear good hiking boots, two pairs of heavy socks, gators, thermal underwear, two pairs of brush pants (even if one pair has to be too big), three T-shirt, one turtleneck long-sleeve shirt, a wool sweater, a parka, a wool balaclava, and mittens.

    Tool? This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzpRh-ZE9Mo

I might also bring the shovel instead.
