South Carolina U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham signaled support for restricting the First Amendment Sunday, just days after a pastor burned a Quran.
“I wish we could find a way to hold people accountable. Free speech is a great idea, but we’re in a war,” Mr. Graham said.
“During World War II, we had limits on what you could do if it inspired the enemy,” the South Carolina Republican added. “Anything we can to push back here in America against acts like this that put our troops at risk.”
The calls for changes in the First Amendment follows the burning of a Quran by Pastor Terry Jones. The event, which received little media attention, caused a number of protests in the Middle East along with the killing of 14 people.

In a related story, Graham also proposed instituting the Jizyah tax on non-Muslims and the imposition of the rest of Sharia law, just so that the enemy wouldn't be inspired by our continued failure to submit to Islam.
Sadly, he's not up for reelection until 2014, but that gives us a few years to find a primary challenger who isn't an idiot.
