It would be like the Taliban dating site. All the women in burkas, young photo and old photo. I'm sure someone here with more computer skills than me can come up with something.

FDR was quite handsome as a young man. Shame about Eleanor, though. :(

Half the difference here is the weight loss.

True, but he also had emphysema, congestive heart failure, extraordinarily high blood pressure, plus the polio and all the stress that put on his body (having to pretend he was able to stand and walk, etc). You figure in the first photo he was 50, which was considered old back then, and for 50 he looks pretty damn good--younger than his age, actually. In the second he was 63, but he looked like an old, sickly man of 83.

Some speculate now that he might've had cancer, which would account for the dramatic weight loss (Look at his suit--it's baggy on him; He must've looked like a skeleton) and the rapid decline in health. I read that back in the 1940s and '50s, if a person had cancer, their doctor usually didn't tell them because in that period, cancer was an automatic death sentence with no hope, no matter how early it was caught. They'd treat it, but they wouldn't depress their patient by telling them they had an uncurable ailment which meant they were going to die no matter what. Also, I've read FDR had a strange relationship with his doctor--He didn't ask what his conditions were, and his doctor didn't tell him; FDR simply took his treatments. His daughter had a bit to do with this--She was in denial about her father's health, I think.

Today someone--even Presidents--can be in their 60s and look damn good. Consider GW Bush and Clinton. They're both in their 60s and yet look well and are full of vitality despite 8 years of stress.
