#1 Poll finds most Americans can't name a GOP presidential candidate04-20-2011, 07:57 PMMost recent polls suggest that there's no clear frontrunner in the race for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. A new poll suggests that may have something to do with the fact that most people can't even name any of the candidates.
About half of all Americans -- 53 percent -- could not name anyone when asked which Republican candidate they've been hearing the most about, according to a new survey from the Pew Research Center.
Other things most Americans can't seem to do:
Name the Vice President of the United States
Sing the National Anthem properly
Recite the Pledge of Allegiance properly
Recite the 1st Amendment of the Constitution
Name their local government representatives
Name their Congressional representatives
Name ANY of the Cabinet Secretaries
Find New Hampshire on a map of the US
Find most other countries on a world map
Oh, and name the anchor of the CBS Evening News
"Our president delivered his State of the Union message to Congress. That is one of the things his contract calls for -- to tell congress the condition of the country. This message, as I say, is to Congress. The rest of the people know the condition of the country, for they live in it, but Congress has no idea what is going on in America, so the president has to tell 'em." ~ Will Rogers
