A passenger screener at Philadelphia International Airport is facing charges that he distributed more than 100 images of child pornography via Facebook, records show.

Federal agents also allege that Transportation Safety Administration Officer Thomas Gordon Jr. of Philadelphia, who routinely searched airline passengers, uploaded explicit pictures of young girls to an Internet site on which he also posted a photograph of himself in his TSA uniform.

Homeland Security agents arrested the TSA officer March 24, and he is being held without bail.

Although the case was unsealed Thursday, neither the indictment nor the news release mentioned Gordon's job searching airline passengers for TSA.

The arrest comes as TSA grapples with several other incidents involving screeners, including a YouTube video posted last week by parents angry about the pat-down their 6-year-old daughter received at an airport in New Orleans.

TSA officials said the pat-down was proper; the parents said the girl was "groped."

Citing privacy rules, TSA spokeswoman Ann Davis would not say if Gordon has been suspended from his job, but noted that he had been in federal custody since his arrest.

"We can assure the public that he is no longer working at the airport," Davis said.

Gordon began working as a TSA screener at the Philadelphia airport in December 2005, Davis said. The airport has 900 screeners, she said.

If convicted of the child pornography charges, Gordon, 46, faces a minimum mandatory sentence of five years. The maximum prison term is 250 years and the top fine is $3.2 million.

"APA Partial Definition of a Pedophile:

The sexual behaviors involved in pedophilia cover a range of activities and may or may not involve the use of force. Some pedophiles limit their behaviors to exposing themselves or masturbating in front of the child, or fondling or undressing the child, but without genital contact."

Have you ever met a TSA officer? None of them are.
"Our president delivered his State of the Union message to Congress. That is one of the things his contract calls for -- to tell congress the condition of the country. This message, as I say, is to Congress. The rest of the people know the condition of the country, for they live in it, but Congress has no idea what is going on in America, so the president has to tell 'em." ~ Will Rogers

I question that needs to be asked is "How in the fuck did this guy get hired"?

This is a perfect example of big government right here. The more government, the harder it is to manage it.

How? How does big government make things worse? Did they have a law saying not to do background checks? The guy's a sicko. Unfortunately, they're hired at times.

I'm reading about the early stages of the Revolutionary War. I'd suggest you do it as well. Even then is was clearly evident that the "bigger" the government, the worse things got.
In most sports, cold-cocking an opposing player repeatedly in the face with a series of gigantic Slovakian uppercuts would get you a multi-game suspension without pay.

In hockey, it means you have to sit in the penalty box for five minutes.

Yeah, I know. You could be killed for treason if you fought on the side of the Patriots or the Tories.

All I'm asking for is a clear connection. Unfortunately, I'm sure you're going to find a lot more child molestation/porn/exploitation cases in the next year that will have nothing to do with the federal government.

No, I'm talking about how Congress almost killed this country by creating redundant departments that just tripped each other up and got nothing done, starving our army, killing thousands.

A fair question. Now if you are ready to defend the merits of big GOV, please start a new thread along those lines. It should be a record thread by the time it gets locked.;)

I'm inclined to believe that the British, French, and Spanish empires had more to do with the evolution of our advanced technological and enlightened political state than tribes found elsewhere at the time. I could be wrong.
