Weather is hot. Blah, Blah, Blah......
TOTD: What great movie have you run across recently, that you had forgotten about.
For me it was The Missing. Great movie, but I had totally forgotten about it.I feel that once a black fella has referred to white foks as "honky paleface devil white-trash cracker redneck Caspers," he's abdicated the right to get upset about the "N" word. But that's just me. -- Jim Goad

We watched "Giant" for the first time in several years, this weekend. I hadn't forgotten the movie existed, of course, but I had forgotten a lot of details in it - like the whole existence of Mercedes McCambridge's character, for example. It's quite an epic, and takes a real time commitment to watch.

Sunny and warm
TOTD: Ten Commandments. I know, how could I forget. Well, it has been a while since I've seen it and I watched some of it the other night when ABC ran it. In his day, Heston, IMO, was the greatest actor who ever lived. And there's nothing like a DeMille epic. I could spend a day watching this, Ben Hur, and The Greatest Show on Earth(I say all day because it would take all day to watch these movies:D).The American Left: Where everything is politics and politics is everything.

Raining and changeable out here.
TOTD: Bastard Out of Carolina. That is some top-notch directing and acting. :)

Five days and nights of rain, lightning, rain, thunder, rain,.......a voice came to me last night, "...couple more days, and you'll..."! Anybody got plans on how to build an ark?
TOTD: "Master and Commander, the Far Side of the World". Director Peter Weir's masterpiece, starring Russell Crowe as the commander of the HMS Surprise trailing the French frigate, Acheron during the Napoleonic War.
As authentic a sea adventure as you'll find. I give it five stars for scenes, acting, dialogue, costume and directing. If you appreciate historically accurate movies, this is it!
