Noble Mon, I have a genuine, made in Wisconsin, TREK model 4500 mountain bike. I raised the handlebars slightly but otherwise it is stock.

27 speeds....all slow, in my case.....:D Strictly Fat Tire. :D

I don't have full knobbies but have a more road friendly tread on the tires but still with enough pattern to be okay on dirt roads. (I don't do mud anymore. At least, not if I can help it.)

I mostly ride back roads and trails.

Nice. I've never ridden that type of bike but would love to. I am way too far away from work to even think about riding my bike to work, or even to town. Plus, on the roads around here it would be EXTREMELY DANGEROUS to even think about commuting by bike.

You wish. No, I was wearing jeans, a thick jacket, and a teeshirt on the way in with my "real" clothes in the basket. Even then I was kind of cold.

My round trip is 20 miles (more or less) with 80% being non-vehicle, dedicated bike paths. The shared part is widened and marked for bikes. Colorado is a real bike-friendly state. We'll vote for bike stuff and let the homeless starve out here. ;)
