To all you Freeper Trolls -

    GET OVER IT!

When the history books are written on the death of Osama bin Laden it will be OBAMA's NAME not George W Bush's name that
will be in the section on how OBL was finally captured and killed.
:)Yes, you are right, it WILL be OBAMA'S NAME that will be in the history books..............as well as this information:

Obama refused to make a decision about it, allowed Jarrett to delay, delay, delay, and finally had the decision taken away from him by the military commanders and others All Obama could think about was the politics of it........not what was best for the nation.

White House Insider: Obama Hesitated – Panetta Issued Order to Kill Osama Bin Laden
by Ulsterman in Issues, May 3, 2011

"What Valerie Jarrett, and the president, did not know is that Leon Panetta had already initiated a program that reported to him –and only him, involving a covert on the ground attack against the compound."

    .........................

I have been told by more than one source that Leon Panetta was directing the operation with both his own CIA operatives, as well as direct contacts with military – both entities were reporting to Panetta only at this point, and not the President of the United States. There was not going to be another delay as had happened 24 hour earlier. The operation was at this time effectively unknown to President Barack Obama or Valerie Jarrett and it remained that way until AFTER it had already been initiated. President Obama was literally pulled from a golf outing and escorted back to the White House to be informed of the mission. Upon his arrival there was a briefing held which included Bill Daley, John Brennan, and a high ranking member of the military. When Obama emerged from the briefing, he was described as looking “very confused and uncertain.” The president was then placed in the situation room where several of the players in this event had already been watching the operation unfold.

Of course you're referring to liberal revisionist history and not the actual history. Hell, once the left gets done with this, Obama himself will have fired the fatal shot. Keep fellating Obama, dude. You can't hide from the truth.

You can't take that power away from the Commander-in-Chief.

There were some delays, but mostly because it was questioned whether bin Laden was in certain areas. The concern was that the military would bomb, kill many people, and not even get bin Laden. That's not acceptable.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/03/wo...1&pagewanted=2

On March 22, the president asked his advisers their opinions on the options.

Mr. Gates was skeptical about a helicopter assault, calling it risky, and instructed military officials to look into aerial bombardment using smart bombs. But a few days later, the officials returned with the news that it would take some 32 bombs of 2,000 pounds each. And how could the American officials be certain that they had killed Bin Laden?
Mr. Panetta told the group that the C.I.A. had “red-teamed” the case — shared their intelligence with other analysts who weren’t involved to see if they agreed that Bin Laden was probably in Abbottabad. They did. It was time to decide.

Around the table, the group went over and over the negative scenarios. There were long periods of silence, one aide said. And then, finally, Mr. Obama spoke: “I’m not going to tell you what my decision is now — I’m going to go back and think about it some more.” But he added, “I’m going to make a decision soon.”

Sixteen hours later, he had made up his mind. Early the next morning, four top aides were summoned to the White House Diplomatic Room. Before they could brief the president, he cut them off. “It’s a go,” he said. The earliest the operation could take place was Saturday, but officials cautioned that cloud cover in the area meant that Sunday was much more likely.
So Obama made that decision, not Panetta. You can't take power away from the Commander-in-Chief. I'm sure Bush would agree with that after the Iraq stuff.

Why can't you take this decision out of Obama's hands? Is there some sort of super-natural force that prevents Obama from being manipulated?

What happened from there is what was described by me as a “masterful manipulation” by Leon Panetta. Panetta indicated to Obama that leaks regarding knowledge of Osama Bin Laden’s location were certain to get out sooner rather than later, and action must be taken by the administration or the public backlash to the president’s inaction would be “…significant to the point of political debilitation.”
"In England a king hath little more to do than to make war and give away places; which in plain terms, is to impoverish the nation and set it together by the ears. A pretty business indeed for a man to be allowed eight hundred thousand sterling a year for, and worshipped into the bargain! Of more worth is one honest man to society and in the sight of God, than all the crowned ruffians that ever lived."
