#1 You Know You're From South Jersey When...05-06-2011, 11:56 PM
There are countless lists like this but most of them don't ring with me 100%. This is my own:
You Know You're From South Jersey When...
...You cringe having to buy produce at the supermarket.
...You can't understand how in the Garden State, stores and restaurants get their produce from South America and Mexico.
...Quiznos, Subway, Domino's, & Papa Johns make you chortle with discontent. Pizza Hut gets a pass because it was the #1 hangout after high school dances.
...You have an empty Johnson's Popcorn bucket and wait in anticipation for summer so you can get it refilled.
...The name Mack & Manco's means something to you.
...The best pizza you've ever eaten comes from places called Big Johns, Joe's, Pat's, and Pasquali's.
...You know what a custard stand is.
...You find it funny that people in other states have to pump their own gas.
...You know where all the places are in Eddie and the Cruisers.
...You or at least 5 people you know work at some kind of correctional facility.
...You still call Bayside State Prison Leesburg.
...You've fished at Crystal Lake and went crabbing at Beaver Dam.
...The Giants, Jets, Devils and the Nets are the enemy.
...You shop in Delaware to avoid paying sales tax.
...You can visit Philadelphia, New York, Washington, DC, and Atlantic City all within a span of 3 days.
...You've been to a Phillies game and Flyers game in the same day and never had to change parking spaces.
...You knew where at least one of the Broad Street Bullies lived.
...You know that Trenton is hardly South Jersey.
...Tomato slices, mayonnaise, salt, pepper makes a nice sandwich.
...You've made dinner out of cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions.
...You drank Frank's soda.
...You bowled at Pike, Loyal, and Delsea Lanes.
...You can still go to the Drive-In.
...A perfect Saturday night was hanging at the gravel pit with friends.
...Friday night was Cumberland Mall night.
...You've gotten into arguments about Jersey tomatoes.
...You know what Tavern Ham is.
...The word WaWa has deep meaning to you.
...You don't 'go to the beach'. You go 'down the shore'.
...You've shopped at ACME and know it isn't a fictional place Wile E. Coyote does business with.
...You know where the Leeds House is and it's significance.
...You believe North Jersey is a separate state, or at least it should be.
...You think people who pronounce Jersey as Joisey are nothing more than shoebies thinking they're being funny.
...You cut school to go to Wildwood.
...'Watch the tram car please' is something you hear in your sleep.
...You've been to other states and eaten their versions of cheesesteaks and all it does it makes you homesick.Deplorably Proud To Be An American

~QC"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. To be your own man is hard business. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself." Rudyard Kipling - (1865-1936)
Context doesn't matter to this liberal it seems/ as long as it satisfies his godless dreams/ like monkeys throwing sh!t as castles in air/ as long as he throws/that is the extent of his care.
