It is windy in Baton Rouge; my electricity went off for 2 hours this am. Thousands of trees are down here. The roads are littered with brush and huge trees up to the street and sometimes in the street. Very dangerous driving at night. Finally got most of the lights working. Almost got T-boned yesterday when this jerk did not stop when the lights were out. We don't need any more damage here; it will take 3 months for the city to clean up all the debris.
I feel for the people in Ike's path. Hoping it is not too bad.

We have dear friends in the Houston area so are waiting to hear from them.
Lots more damage way up here than we expected last week so this time may be worse.

Supposed to have 20 to 50 mph winds this evening and tonight. More trees will be blown down and more power outages. Going to get gas, groceries, money and make preparations for the lights going out again. This is getting old. Plus the damn sitter did not show up today.

Just keep in mind that there's no global warming.;)
At Coretta Scott King's funeral in early 2006, Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert Kennedy, leaned over to him and whispered, "The torch is being passed to you." "A chill went up my spine," Obama told an aide. (Newsweek)
