Prayers for my brother-in-law and sister-in-law

My BIL is a deputy sheriff in Thurston County here in Washington. Yesterday, he and another deputy apprehended a suspect in an amber alert out of Colorado. This scumbag was using his child as a shield. As they got the child away from this guy, the suspect, who is HIV positive, bit my brother in law. We are waiting for the tests to come back, hopefully negative.

His wife is emotionally shot right now. She is in her 5 month of pregnancy which happens to be a high risk one to boot.

It is...My brother-in-law tried to keep this info from his wife until the results got back. Unfortunately the on duty lieutenant called his wife to let her know that her husband was in the hospital for a bite wound which got the ball rolling. My BIL is just a bit pissed at his supervisor right now too.

Isn't HIV only spread through semen and blood? I would say the odds are in your BIL favor, so reassure him in that dept.

There can be active virus in the saliva, but it's a less direct route than the other fluids. IOW, it's less likely but possible.
