OTTAWA—Canada's economy expanded at a 3.9% annualized pace in January through March, the fastest clip in a year and more than double the rate in the U.S., as businesses replenished inventories and boosted investment spending and exports rose while consumer and government spending stalled, Statistics Canada said Monday.

Gross domestic product growth was marginally below the consensus call of 4%, and also undershot the Bank of Canada's 4.2% forecast.

GDP growth accelerated from a downwardly revised 3.1% ..

Surprise, surprise. Canadians do not have these left wing anti-drilling screwballs like we do in the US. Between the environmentalist that want to shut down drilling in W. TX because of a lizard and liberals in Congress that only want green energy, we are screwed. Canada believes in exploring their resources.

Mostly, Canada did not extend credit to dubious home buyers, it did not guarantee liars' loans through the government, and it did not consider any financial institutions "too big to fail".

Canada is holding out on Fiat, according to NPR this morning. The United States can't get rid of their position fast enough but the Canadians aren't so quick to relieve themselves of the burden of their ownership stake.

Libs, too dense to understand sarcasm when offered, but just smart enough to find their way to the polls on election day. Got to keep their freebies.
