    North Korea is one of the most secretive countries in the world.

    Most images of life in this state that are released in the mainstream media display military exercises and grandiose parades.

    British photographer Charlie Crane traveled to Pyongyang, the capital city, and obtained permission to photograph daily life in North Korea.

    Despite being chaperoned by a guide, Crane was allowed to photograph passers-by during their daily routine -- a rare glimpse into the lives of ordinary North Koreans.
    In spite of the obvious, there is a select group of mental midgets at DU that think N Korea is really a "nice" place. Hannah should get an Award for Teh Stupid.

    Hannah Bell is the one I want to slap. She must be Kim Jong IL's propaganda minister on DU. Her arguements are akin to saying that "she saw some Jews smiling while she visited Auschwitz".

    She would have fallen for the Thereinstadt illusion that the Nazis created to try to fool the Red Cross. Meanwhile, they were executing prisoners at a nearby camp called "The Fortress".
