Roger Ailes, Fox News Chief: I'd Like To Hire Hillary Clinton



In Monday's interview, Ailes struck a more congenial tone, but he pushed back against some of the claims in the recent articles. He denied that he thought Palin was stupid, saying, "she's so smart she's got the press corps running up the whole East Coast behind her bus." And he called the reports of his heavy security detail "fantasy."


Ailes also said he'd like to hire Hillary Clinton as a Fox News contributor.
"She looks unhappy at the State Department," he said. "She'd get ratings."

I have always felt that the woman is incredibly smart. She is also quite likeable when she is herself and not spouting talking points and liberal ideology.

True, in the intellectual sense of "likable:" I may disagree with her on all counts, but I would still sit down and have a beer with her.

I think Clinton, like Condi Rice or Colin Powell, is way above doing the Fox News schtick. Her stature, reputation, and presense is such that selling soap on a political porn show would not happen.

If it helped her in a way that she thought important, she would do it. I'd be interested in seeing her do a commentary show. I'd rather see her do it on Fox than a more left leaning program because I think she'd be challenged more, and I believe she'd be up for the challenge.
