Is Hugo Chavez dead?

I just got into work and in the newsroom there is a note "Hugo Chavez is dead, he was shot 700 times, they have no suspects."

I don't see anything on the wire, and I watched BBC world this morning with no mention. I see no threads here either, is this just a joke?
