#1 Winnipeg Jets stay in South East

While it kinda makes sense from a scheduling point of view, it's kinda stupid all around. These guys are gonna get the shit beat out of them this year. Travelling thousands of miles every week for half the damn year. I hope they aren't expecting to see a huge improvement in play this year.
So we get to wait until next year to see which Western team gets to move to the East.In most sports, cold-cocking an opposing player repeatedly in the face with a series of gigantic Slovakian uppercuts would get you a multi-game suspension without pay.
In hockey, it means you have to sit in the penalty box for five minutes.

I remember when the Braves were in the NL West. That made no sense either.
I listened to a lot of Braves games played on the West Coast...until I fell asleep. I usually nodded off in the middle innings.
Good memories. :)Hey careful man! There's a beverage here!

Actually, at one time the NFC West looked like this:
SF 49ers
LA Rams
Atlanta Falcons
N.O. Saints
Carolina Panthers
And the East was the way it is, with the Cowboys still in the East instead of the South. But the NFL is still screwy. The Rams are in the West even though the Cowboys are further west than they. The Colts are in the South and the Dolphins are in the East. The American Left: Where everything is politics and politics is everything.

yeah, but some of those are due to historic rivalries, and Jones pulled a few strings to stay in the NFC East. But if he had been smart he would have gone to the West and dominated it for the last 10 years and had a guaranteed playoff spot.
Where teams are make things a little difficult to have it totally by region. Personally I'd have Baltimore in the East, Indy in the North and the Fin's in the South, but they wanted to keep some of those rivalries going"Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings..." The Cowboys wouldn't have dominated all that much. Since realignment, the Cowboys would have finished(starting from 2002) taking into account STL would have been in the East and all things being equal:
4th, tied for 1st, 3rd, 2nd, tied for 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st, tied for 3rd. And their playoff appearances wouldn't have changed. So they wouldn't have dominated at all. People like to say the west is weak but how do you explain the 2 Super Bowl appearances of West teams? The American Left: Where everything is politics and politics is everything.

well you can't take their standings from those years and plug them in, the NFC East (no mater how overrated they are) is better than the NFC West. The Seahawks would have given them a run for their money, particularly at first but being in the West they would have gotten a Wild Card spot as they would have had much easier schedule than playing the Eagles and Giants 2x a year
oh, and I don't see the Rams in the East, I'd see them in the South with Carolina being in the East"Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings..."
