I can't believe it's the final mission!
Despite a 70 percent "no-go" forecast, senior managers said they would try for an on-time launch of Atlantis anyway. Launch time is 11:26 a.m.
Don't miss it!!!

Did you see that they're going back to capsules?

STS-135 is still a go! :)

It's just as well. Something like shuttle flights are a "nice to have", not a "need to have" in this economy. I cannot name one thing that has come out of the shuttle program that has affected our lives down here. I know they've done some experiments, but that's all I know.
We'll have to settle for watching the launch on HD NetTV as a squall line is blowing in off the Gulf this morning, lots of clouds...:D

Well, short of someone dropping a hammer or something it looks like they will light it up in a few minutes! :D

I still get excited for launches. I haven't seen many and the camera on the booster is a plus.
Cool Beans! Hope Da Mission goes smooth! :D

Linda, for you. http://techtran.msfc.nasa.gov/at_home.html
I lived in SW Florida for 10 years, 30 miles south of Sarasota (the city, not SR :D) and got used to sticking up for the Space Program when talking to my Canadian family and friends.
If you have time, do click on the link, you will be quite impressed.
SR, can't remember how long you have been in Florida, but if you have not experienced it yet ... I used to love hearing the Shuttle break the sound barrier when it was re-entering.
Oh Mercy! Scratch that, SR. You were living in Florida when I was! Duh!
Was just having a "senior moment". I guess! Rats! :)
