We live a couple miles from Siesta Beach. I love looking at the water, but sadly til I get my knee fixed, the physical therapist told me to stay off the sand. My preference is the mountains, specifically the West.

Florida is as flat as the proverbial pancake. I miss the hills of the Midwest and the western mountains.

Nice, Siesta Key Beach was recognized for being the most beautiful beach in Florida by the Travel Channel....after South Beach...I honestly don't think South Beach is the best...but it's certainly the most popular.

not saying they aren't out there, but South Haven Beaches are really nice, as are most of the beaches around here

From what I have heard they have cleaned up those lakes a lot, the leaches may have thinned out after the pollution was brought under control. When I was a kid you got them everywhere, literally.

No, they are still in Benton Harbor.
