Well, you're welcome to hope that Fred Thompson runs again in 2012, or what have you; meanwhile, I'm happy to see Paul polling in First Place in Texas, and will be looking forward to seeing if he improves his standing over 2008. As I've said before, if he even has an impact on the 2012 Platform, I'll consider that a "small win" in and of itself. :)

Paul is already influencing the debate, judging by Romney's recent comments: "It's time for to us bring our troops home as soon as we possibly can.... I also think we've learned, that our troops shouldn't go off and try and fight a war of independence for another nation."

So, yeah -- as long as Paul's ideas are adopted into the eventual Platform, I'll be happy to consider that a "small win" in and of itself. Happily, it's already happening, amongst his competitors.
