    TOTD: There are some movie franchises that the sequel or remake is considered better than the original. Not many, but a few. What movie sequel/remake is considered better than the original, but not in your opinion?
    I feel that once a black fella has referred to white foks as "honky paleface devil white-trash cracker redneck Caspers," he's abdicated the right to get upset about the "N" word. But that's just me. -- Jim Goad

    Almost never, although I like the remake of "The Thing" better than the original. The remake of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", not so much.

    I like the character Rooster Cogburn better as Jeff Bridges played him. Well. What i mean is i expect Rooster to be mean and John Wayne, as much as i love him, just wasn't mean enough. However i do not like the ending in the new True Grit.

    I haven't even been outside, but I'm sure it's hot.

    TOTD: The Dark Knight Saga by Christopher Nolan. He hasn't sacrificed the story for shit. I'm almost sad to see it come to a close with The Dark Knight Rises next year.

    That was what inspired the thread. Everyone loves Dark Knight, but I actually liked Batman Begins better.

    What did you not like? I didn't like killing off Aaron Eckhardt's character and ... ending fatigue.

    I think Dark Knight is probably the 2nd best Super Hero movie ever. I put it about 1/3 of a notch behind Batman Begins. The story of Batman Begins was just better.
