We had about a half inch rain yesterday. Nothing today but it's cloudy, and a little cool for July. Low 70's an may hit low 60's tonight.

We had a few showers and the temp is in the high 70's; looks like rain for the next couple of days in big B.R.

100+ for almost a month now, severe drought with no relief in sight.

Same here, well over 100+ almost every day for well over a month or two.
We got one 5 minute downpour last week on the west side of town, which
I was on the other side & got about 3 drops at the most. :mad: We are still hot
and dry, under burn bans, under severe water rationing with the City actually
giving heafty fines to violators now. Still have fires burning, at least 3 were in
the news yesterday and today. All my nose hairs have been singed off from
breathing outside. I do believe I've died and went to hell.

A two-week heat wave across Central Texas has rewritten the history books.

The high temperatures Monday at Camp Mabry and at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport reached 103 degrees, the hottest temperature ever recorded so early in the year at ABIA -- and second hottest at Camp Mabry.

It was the seventh day of record heat in the past two weeks, and the record-high temperature is expected to be threatened again Tuesday, with a forecast of 100 degrees. This spring is now the hottest in Austin history, with records dating back to the 1850s.

Temperatures have reached the triple digits five times this spring, with two weeks remaining until the official beginning of summer. On average, temperatures reach 100 or above only 12 times a year.

The average first day of triple-digit heat in Austin is July 11.

2011 the hottest summer ever. So far.

Hopefully it will not end this way, but this summer is off to the hottest start in recorded Austin history.

You can see in the tables below our average high temperature since June 1st ranks #1 on the all-time list at 100.3 degrees. Our average daily temperature during this period also ranks #1 at 87.5 degrees. For climate purposes, summer includes the months of June, July and August.

right now we're at 32 days of 100+ degree heat, with the 7 day forcast predicting the same all the way through.

More T-Storms all around us at the moment. Some rain but nothing too much...

SLW and I had to go up to Tampa/St.Pete today and the weather was nice, a little drier than over the weekend but not bad and pretty hot.

Until we got back to Sarasota...

We could see the T-Storms as we went over the SkyWay Bridge and by time we got home it was pouring again. I'd say we picked up another inch and some places
I'm sure got even more. This tropical storm was supposed to kill the afternoon T-Storms but someone forgot to tell the storms...
