Seems that the Marine Corps Ball is the place to be. And Celebs are starting to line up for invites.

In the latest, Linda Hamilton issued her own youtube video asking Sgt. Ray Lewis if he would call her and invite her to the ball.

My son is friends with the girl that asked Justin Timberland.
They served in the same squadron together.

It certainly seems to have become a hot event for celebrities. Or at least some celebrities. Obviously, the Marine who snags an A-list celebrity will clearly be the hit of the regiment, but showing up with a D-list celeb (unless you score points for irony) is just going to get you ridiculed. For that matter, any outspoken antiwar moonbat will get you seriously hassled, but Jane Fonda is an obvious no-go. Any pro-military celebrity is a plus, especially if that celebrity is hot (Leeanne Tweeden, for example).

Bringing Paris Hilton is a win.
Bringing Perez Hilton is a fail.

    Run down on who's invited.

    Justin Timberlake

    Mila Kunis

    Miley Cyrus

    (Invited, but yet to respond)

    Linda Hamilton

(Asked Marine, yet to hear response.)

There is now a Olympic skier offering to be a date. I would expect others to ether be asked, or offer to go. As this is turning into a celeb. catch all event.

Betty White was asked also by one young Marine.
But she said while she just loves a man in uniform
regrettably she couldn't go due to a scheduling conflict
that has her filming somewhere that day.

You forgot Betty White. She declined.

Celebs who have not been invited:

    Helen Thomas
Still waiting by the phone, but only if the Marine who asks her isn't Jewish.

    Whoopi Goldberg
Because Marines have to pass optometry exams.

    Lindsay Lohan
Not unless they spike the punch bowl.

    Charlie Sheen
    Winning!

    Rosie O'Donnell
Don't ask, don't tell, don't even think about it.

    Gary Busey
Doesn't know that he's not going.

    Barack Hussein Obama
Doesn't associate with Marines. Also has a conflicting tee time.

Awesome, that's good to know. I hadn't heard that part of the story.
