It's the typical, shallow hyperbole a rabid lib spouts against something they've illogically made a symbol of. But this little nugget uncovers a quick glimpse of the their envious souls, which drives their socialist tendencies.

3. All fuel hogs will be passe soon enough,,,,The STARES should do it...
The reason this caught my attention is that envy often seems just as large a contributor toward a drift to socialism as a true concern for the welfare of others.

If you drive a vehicle that gets 4-6 mpg, on the weekends, does that make you the spawn of Satan?
At Coretta Scott King's funeral in early 2006, Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert Kennedy, leaned over to him and whispered, "The torch is being passed to you." "A chill went up my spine," Obama told an aide. (Newsweek)

When I drive my Blazer, the last thing I'm thinking about is what other people are thinking. I most certainly would not notice anyone staring.

When people stare at me in my car, I like to stare back.. About 20 seconds or so of that and the other person gets uncomfortable and turns away..

I don't give a flying rat's ass what those morons think of my SUV. I worked hard in school, got a great job, and I can afford my SUV. Hell, they make Escapes as hybrids and I still bought a real one. If they start staring at me, I'll be too busy laughing at them to stare back :D

It is nothing against you to fall down flat, but to lie there - that's disgrace

I truly don't care what anyone drives. Presumably if someone bought an Escalade or a Hummer, they're not so stupid as to complain about gas prices now.

I don't care about what people drive, but I just can't understand why you would choose to spend more money than you have to on transportation. I drive a Honda Civic and it does it's job very well - gets me to and from work, and wherever else I need to go.
I would rather spend the extra gas money on something fun. To each his own I suppose.

Exactly, Biccat. I'm at the point in life where I could buy any car I want with cash (with the possible exceptions of a Bentley or a Testarossa), and I commute just fine in my nine year old Saturn. I fill it once every two weeks, and it just takes care of itself.

You just nailed two of the libs foundational cornerstones. One, everyone should always care what others think of them. Acceptance from others is libs only source of validation in life, as opposed to personal successes, achievements, salvation, ect. Two, the idea that we are entitled to personal feelings and ideas. Directly tied to the first, if everyone thinks and feels exactly the same about everything, then it is much easier to ensure that you will be acceptable to others.
Lager, you nailed another cornerstone. Libs don't want to work for anything, and they don't want anyone to have more than them. Their answer then of course is to take everything away from those who have worked for it, simply because the libs don't have it. Those evil folks who busted their butts in school and afterwards, set and achieved goals, planned and saved, and now aren't reliant on gubment handouts. I'm jealous of them too, but I know my situation is my own darn fault, and don't demand that they be knocked down to my economic level. Personal responsibility is beyond the liberal mindset.
