OK, I'll bite. What part of the article gave you cause to identify anyone involved as a liberal? This was a race riot, because a black man was shot after he failed to kill a police officer.

    Their British?
In most sports, cold-cocking an opposing player repeatedly in the face with a series of gigantic Slovakian uppercuts would get you a multi-game suspension without pay.

In hockey, it means you have to sit in the penalty box for five minutes.

Tottenham U.K.,Is Today's version of Chicago...

In 1985, the Broadwater Farm housing estate in Tottenham was the scene of rioting between the police and local youths following the death of Cynthia Jarrett, a resident of the estate who died of heart failure after four policemen burst into her home. The response of the members of the black community in Tottenham and surrounding areas culminated in a riot beginning on Tottenham High Road and ending in the local Broadwater Farm Estate. One police officer - PC Keith Blakelock - was killed...... 58 policemen and 24 other people were injured in the fighting. Two of the policemen were injured by gunshots during the riot, the first time that firearms had been used in that type of confrontation....
The Metropolitan Police have appealed for information about the murder of 40-year-old Pc Blakelock, or the attempted murder of Pc Richard Coombes who was attacked on the same night.

    Machete-wielding gang

Silcott, Mark Braithwaite and Engin Raghip were convicted of Pc Blakelock's murder in July 1987 but cleared on appeal in 1991.....Pc Blakelock, a father of three who was originally from Sunderland, was murdered by a machete-wielding gang during the riots, which involved about 500 youths who rampaged through the Broadwater Farm estate....The riots, in which gangs attacked police, looted and set fires, were some of the worst the capital had seen for decades.

The officer and his colleague Pc Coombes were attacked as they tried to protect firefighters as violence escalated....The unrest was sparked by the death of Cynthia Jarrett, 49, who collapsed during a police raid on her home.

In 2005, police released images of Pc Blakelock's blood-stained overalls, with tape marks outlining the number of wounds inflicted upon him.....Investigators have repeatedly said people in the area have information about the identity of the killers they have not shared with police.

    Demography

Tottenham is a multicultural hotspot with many different ethnic groups inhabiting the area. It is often referred to as a black area because it contains one of the largest and most significant populations of African-Caribbean people. These were among the earliest immigrant groups to settle in the area, starting the UK's Windrush era soon after West African communities - notably the many Ghanaians - begun to migrate into the area...... Between 1980 and the present day there has been a slow immigration of Colombians, Albanian, Kurdish, Turkish-Cypriot, Turkish, Irish, and Portuguese populations.... South Tottenham is reported to be the most ethnically-diverse area in Europe, with up to 300 languages being spoken by its residents.

Tottenham has the highest unemployment rate in London and the 8th highest in the United Kingdom. It therefore has some of the highest poverty rates within the country....There have also been major tensions between the African-Caribbean community and the police since (and before) the 1985 Broadwater Farm riot which stemmed from major issues of racism and police brutality.

Although Tottenham is well known for its diversity and culture, it has also been one of the main hotspots for gangs and gun crime in the United Kingdom during the past three decades.... This followed the rise of gangs and drug wars throughout the area, notably those involving the Tottenham Mandem gang and various gangs from Hackney and all of the areas surrounding Tottenham, and the emergence of an organised crime ring known as the Turkish Mafia was said to have controlled more than 90% of the UK's heroin market.
