If anything, we're not spending ENOUGH money. Education in many areas is a complete joke. Our health care system is broken. The ranks of the elderly are exploding, and people are being forced to work well past their retirement age. Homelessness is on the rise, as fatcat bankers force more and more people out of their homes.
How in the hell can anyone tell me that we're spending TOO MUCH money to help other people? If anything, we're not spending enough money! If we must make deep cuts, cut the military industrial complex, cut back on our worldwide empire.
No, the primary problem in this country is that the ultra-rich are not paying their fair share. It's time to not only end the Bush-era tax cuts (which really didn't create any jobs to begin with), but we need to significantly raise taxes on the richest of the rich. It's basic math. In order to reduce the deficit, you must either reduce spending or increase revenue. We can't really reduce spending without adversely affecting millions of our most vulnerable people, so the only alternative is to ask the wealthy to share more of the burden.gateley Donating Member (1000+ posts) Mon Aug-08-11 11:12 PM

Liberals NEVER say that THEY will pay more, and then DO SO. The" rich" ones like to say they will, when they do not already do so in practice. If Obama had paid more he'd be crowing about it, but you notice he hasn't, even though he has said that he can afford to and should be forced to. And those who do not consider themselves "rich" think that they are owed anything and everything they want.

6. Why aren't more Americans clamoring for a revenue increase
by taxing the wealthy who own this country. They own it, they ought to pay for its upkeep. The repubs often compare our budget to that of a family: don't spend what you don't have. Well, if a individual can't make ends meet on current income, the answer is not to quit eating or paying the rent, but to get more income, i.e. a second job. We need more revenue asaa country.

Here, Idiot dummies; suck on this for a while.
The "rich" are already carrying this country financially! They are paying for their fair share, plus your fair share down there at the other end next to those 50% who pay nothing but Federal Gasoline taxes. The problem is that we spend more than the "rich" could possibly hope to pay you idiot DIMwitted retards.
The collective IQ of the DUmp has got to be lower than the calories in a can of Diet Coke. It's outright shame how passionate they are about how little they know."In England a king hath little more to do than to make war and give away places; which in plain terms, is to impoverish the nation and set it together by the ears. A pretty business indeed for a man to be allowed eight hundred thousand sterling a year for, and worshipped into the bargain! Of more worth is one honest man to society and in the sight of God, than all the crowned ruffians that ever lived."

The DUmmies won't be happy until anyone making $150K or more a year are getting their poickets picked with a 90% tax rate.

If you took EVERY SINGLE DIME THEY OWN - not JUST their income - but every single dime they own, you wouldn't begin to cover the debts - and next year you wouldn't be able to get a penny from them. You would have destroyed their ability to produce wealth for years.
I long for the days when our President actually liked our country.

Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil.

Do the DUmmies ever thank the "rich" for paying their way for them?
