    Any predictions?

This is one of the first big straw polls of the elections cycle. It tends to favor the campaigns that are best organized at this point. Most candidates get a really big bounce into the fall from this and it starts to weed out the chaffe.

    Romney took it in 2007.

My prediction. No particular order cause it's just so hard to figure out

    Bachman
    Romney
    Paul

Maybe Cain rounding out the top 4....

Bachman has Randy Travis and Huckabee at her tent.

That's a good sign she may win.

I almost forgot that Bush won this in 1999.

Polls closing. Voting is counted and announced about 7pm central.

Word has it Bachman, Paul and then Pawlenty.

Surprised about Pawlenty....don't know what happened to the Romney machine.

I think that many people are seeing that Romney seems to be the Republican Insiders Political Machine pick at this point and are showing their displeasure at the RNC "business as usual" bullshit. Listening to some of the pundshits, they seem to think it is Romney's turn like it was for McCain last cycle and Dole's against Clinton.

Maybe there is hope yet, but I tend to doubt it.

I'm watching but to be honest I'm not enthusiastic about anyone right now.

But I'll take "un-named republican" any day over BHO.

so, do we consider this the first nail in Romney's casket? Seen as the front runner going in and doesn't even place 3rd in the poll, thats got to be telling about the general feel of people and make one wonder about the polls that show him in front

    3. Governor Tim Pawlenty (2293, 13.57%)

    4. Senator Rick Santorum (1657, 9.81%)

    5. Herman Cain (1456, 8.62%)

I just realized that McCotter wasn't at the debate the other night....would have been nice to hear him up there

If Ron Paul and Michele Bachman split the social conservatives and libertarian types this may give an opportinity to any strong third candidate.

I can see Perry winning the caucus. I doubt Romney would. Never can tell though. Could be someone else completely. Perry and Bachman have Tea Party cred.

    This will be interesting.

I think this is going to be a year where money isn't going to be a huge factor. we'll see though
