I'm in the habit of wrapping a brick in brown paper, afixing the "no postage required" return to it, and dropping it in a mailbox. They're usually from AARP.

eeevil is the religious junk mail I get from St. Matthews Churches-the miracle, paper prayer rug with the image of Jesus on it. If I pray on it every day, God will make me rich-but only if I send St. Matthews Churches a generous donation, of course. This stuff is beyond even the evil of the "prosperity gospel".

Thanks for reminding me. I used to do that all the time. My own little twist was writing on their begging for donations form----I will never give you a nickel. Get lost. They usually do, especially after the use of Namvet's trick of stuffing the paid return address envelope with junk. :D

That's my firm belief. I used to bitch about moving to Florida, but the longer that I'm here, the more I appreciate the area. Our neighbors have been lifesavers to SR and me. They pitched in and dogsat our dogs for 10 days when we needed the dental work in St Louis and drove me to and from my colonoscopy/endoscopy since SR can't drive for a while yet because of the meds. They visited him in the hospital, called to ask how they could help and have been doing so much more than family has done.

That old saying is true, "Thank God we can pick our friends". (I think that I screwed it up, but hopefully the idea is clear.
