Cool and breezy on The Mountain. Different Mountain though. We're on Mt. Pisgah in North Carolina. Our anniversary was this week. Nice. 26 years.

TOTD: Ever have a wild or uninvited animal get into your house?

We've had a visitor coming in the cat's (Sam) pet door. Finally saw it night berfore last. It is a young possum.

Officially that's an opossum but he don't look Irish to me. :D

How aboput you. Any wild critters in your domicile?

Happy Anniversary! The mountains of NC are beautiful. My mother was from Boone NC. We once ha a HUGE blacksnake under our house but the two dogs ran him off. I did not want to kill him because we lived near a lake and there were many copperheads around.

Sunny and typical August weather for Florida, hot and humid.

TOTD: Two houses ago in St Louis, squirrels somehow got in the house. They were in the walls and running around in the attic. It was disgusting. The dogs would be barking at the wall, so overall it wasn't a pleasant experience. I got out of that house, between the mice and the squirrels, it wasn't a good time. The ex was a hoarder and wouldn't remove mountains of newspapers from the house, which didn't help with the mice problem. The house I bought was rodent free, a wonderful experience.

And won't put in a dog door because never know might be coming in the door besides the greyhounds. :D

Yesterday I looked out the window and caught a glimpse of a skinny tail going up the large oak tree. I yelled "a rat!" SR got a better look and said it was one of those Irish creatures--the O'possums.

More heat and humidity.........again!

TOTD: Had a pigeon fly down the chimney once, and circled the livingroom for a while. Ex called me at work - terrified! I told her to just open the front door and wait. It worked.

Never found out what pigeon pie would taste like, though.

We're home.

I love the Blue Ridge Parkway. We stayed at Pisgah Inn. No wifi. No connection with our cell phone.

Sorry, but I didn't miss you guys.

For a couple of days anyway. :D

We had a good relaxing time. Good food too.

We had an amazing thunderstorm about an hour after we checked in. We watched it go off to the east until that evening. The lightening was really awesome.
