DU rule # 2: Members are expected "to support Democratic candidates for politcal office."
Edited on Sun Aug-21-11 10:57 AM by panader0
Will those who openly advocate against Obama quit DU? Will they be TSed? Perhaps they can find a forum that doesn't have rules
like those here at DU. Disappointment is very understandable, criticism is fine, it is well deserved in many ways, but to actively oppose Obama and state you will not vote for him, or to say you hope a Republican wins, while it may be your opinion, is not what DU is about.
I expect this to be flamed, people want to voice their opinions, but those opinions should follow the rules, no?

37. Can DU survive with only 10 members?
Doubt it.

38. Who decides if politicians deserve the label Democrats?
You're advocating support of ANYONE just because they have a D next to their name. You wouldn't continue to support someone on your favorite sport team if they continued to give the opposition more points. Why do it in politics? Which could actually affects peoples lives in a really bad way.Yeah! Speak truth to power!Tierra_y_Libertad (1000+ posts) Sun Aug-21-11 10:55 AM

3. I will gladly support Obama...if he's the most progressive, anti-war, candidate on the ballot.
But, my vote still belongs to me. Not to the Democratic Party, any particular candidate, of DU.
What a bunch of morans.
