I'll take it as a TOTD.......
I was at home waiting for Bob Maab to take our new homeowners association Constitution and Bylaws to a lawyer in Galena, MO, for review. When he got to the house, the WTC towers were struck. We watched the events on the TV.
Where were you?
I was working from home. The receptionist called and asked if I had on the TV. Even if I did, wouldn't admit it. However, turned it on just as the second plane hit.
Today is a sober day of rememberance. I hope that the kids today learn the truth and not the PC correct pablum that some of the schools are dishing out. They need to learn to be resolute and not bow to the forces of evil.
It was hard to watch today and explaining why so many people were sad on tv to my youngest and my neice as they saw me crying over the place. I will make sure my children and my neices and nephew never forget what happened
I flew out of Newark on September 9th, moving to Sarasota. 9/11 - Just got our of shower and had news on in bedroom getting ready to call my Mom - 9/11 is her birthday - and hear Matt Laurer say something about a wild report.
Spent the rest of the day glued to the tube wondering if we were looking at WWIII
I had to work today.
My boss was to be on one of those planes up until a last minute change by the airline.
His wife is still afraid to fly.
It was a very nice day with a few minutes of rain.
We drove by AMC Headquarters yesterday, and they had the flag at half mast. My son saw this, and he said that they needed to fix it. I told him no, it was supposed to be that way today. He said "Oh. The flag is sad today."
At three years old, he had no clue what had happened that day, and he had no clue just how right he was.
The Casino New York in Las Vegas had a big celebration...with a memorial.
Some of the pictures are touching but it pisses me off as I know they made money.
