We went to a veterans' breakfast this morning, at a Lutheran Church near here. A Holocaust survivor gave her presentation of what she experienced when she was hidden by neighbors as a 6-year old in Belgium. It was a fantastic story!

We learned that this church has been doing this for the last 7 years. At the breakfast 3 years ago, a Polish woman who survived the Holocaust while a prisoner at Auschwitz gave a talk, and in the audience was an Army Engineer veteran in the troops that liberated her from Auschwitz. Now they have a meeting about 4 times a year to share memories and to talk about things.

Brought tears to these old blue eyes of mine....
