My Fundie neighbor has put up a McSame sign in retaliation to my Obama sign
    (snip)
I do not wear my political beliefs on my sleeve (save my lawn sign and Obama button as of recently.) I have no intention of damaging their property but I am aching to put up a well written sign in my own lawn with an arrow pointing to their sign (small lawns...)

Any ideas as to what it should say DUers?
How about writing on it "I wish I had the brains God gave my neighbor!"

After all, if you can't name the 3 branches of government, define 'bicameral legislature', and distinguish between a democracy and a republic, you really don't need to help decide who gets to be president.
You are going to disqualify over 80% of the voters if you did that.
    How about this:
What is the full name of each candidate for Prez and VP
    What state are they from
Name 2 reasons for voting for your candidate other than party affiliation or race.

This series of question would still get rid of a majority of voters.

Bingo. :D See, I'm all for letting people vote for whomever they want to represent them in the House...maybe even the Senate, but everyone in the country over 18 getting to vote for president? Ridiculous. If you can't figure out how to get a car in 'D' or how to use a clutch pedal, I don't want you on the highway.

I like those (especially the last one), but my format would be like 5 questions, elementary-level Social Studies, multiple choice Scan-Tron, so it will take like 10 seconds to complete, 2 seconds to grade. Something to the tune of:

    1. What are the three branches of government?
    2. What are the two houses of Congress?
    3. What is the difference between a democracy and a republic?
    4. How many senators does each state have?
    5. What is it called when the president returns a bill to Congress unsigned?

Thank you for completing the Voting Eligibility Determination Exam, please present your completed exam and photo ID to the first available volunteer.

Now I learned most of this in 4th grade, and AFAIK, you have to go to school until at least age 16, never mind that we have a Wikipedia now. If you're 18+ and can't answer these questions, better luck next time.
Nothing helps a bad mood like spreading it around.

    Yikes.

I think McCain's middle name is Sidney, and I know BHO. But what are the middle names of Palin and Biden?

Her middle name is Louis? And we wonder why she gave her kids weird names. :p
