    In the trivia FWIW column, Branca was the pitcher that served up the two on, two out, two strike walkoff home run to Thompson. We got to listen to the game live in our eighth grade classroom - thank you Mr. Brinkman (RIP).

    My criticism of La Russa has been that he tends to stick with pitchers too long.
