The Milwaukee version of Occupy Wall Street, which has only been a few people on most days, held a march today. In “support” of this march, the Burger King on King Drive & Locust flew the American Flag upside down, and refused to correct it.

That had to have been a managers call. I'm sure one that will soon be fired.
Remember that it's a Franchise, it's the Franchise owner's call, unless they didn't know about it, in which case, then it's the Manager's call, then it's up to the Owner on what they'll do with them.
In other words, it's not Burger King's stance, but either the Manager or Franchise owner's stance
Not sure if this applies to franchisees, but for employees....from BK's Code of Conduct:you are not permitted to represent the Company in political activities without specific clearance from the Company’s general counsel.
Using Company facilities, property or logos for political purposes is not permitted.
I just did a google search on this. CU was the #2 hit. The #1 was the Burger King Website and it had nothing to do with this story.
Couldn't even find local media coverage on it.
Isn't flying the flag upside down a sign of distress?
I live... 45 min from the BK world HQ in Miami. It used to be 10, but they moved post Andrew.
Send me some more pictures and info and I'll hand deliver it to the HQ.
