And so they think that demonizing Republican candidates will make Obama (the worst president ever) acceptable to people.jpgray (27,697 posts) Profile Journal Send DU Mail
What you will support in a president is based on what the GOP base will support in a president.
According to some, the proper judgment of a candidate is whether he or she is superior to the alternative. So long, then, as the GOP candidate will do extremely disagreeable things, we are happy if our candidate will do strongly disagreeable things. This is a political philosophy where one can give support to someone who does almost everything badly, so long as the alternative would do even worse.
The more evil the opposition and the more desperate our resulting situation, the easier it is to justify electing a candidate who is guaranteed to do almost nothing about either?
Doesn't this seem unsatisfying as a standard?
