Repairs to City Hallís lawn where the Occupy group set up camp on Oct. 1 will require an estimated $400,000. The police action to clear out the encampment on Nov. 30 cost more than $700,000.

Additional expenses are attributed to hauling away debris from the camp, and cleaning up graffiti that defaced City Hall marble walls and trees.

Nah. They'll just stick it to the taxpayers the way that they always do.

I think that the best way to deal with these idiots would have been to lock them into their camps and not let them out until they had restored them to their previous condition. It's like making a child clean up his/her room. You don't let them have anything fun until they stop their tantrum and clean up.

OWS would have stayed forever and never left. The city was facing a full scale staph epidemic.

I said that they should make them stay until they cleaned up. I didn't say that they should feed them. :D

So Occupy is trying to deplete the public sector on which their "99%" depend for services? At a time of fiscal hardship?

How does forcing a city to take a million or so out of its budget for trash collection, health services, road repair, etc. help the 99%?

(Of course, the answer is that it doesn't.)

If anything proves that Occupy is a run by a bunch of elitist politcal operatives, it is the bills to financially strapped cities for Occupy's dirt and destruction.
