Clashes with police have been a hallmark of Occupy Oakland since October, when police made their initial clearance of a camp in front of City Hall that had become a gathering spot for economic injustice protests modeled on Occupy Wall Street.
In other words, violence against law enforcement personnel has been a hallmark of Occupy Oakland since the first time they were not permitted to do whatever they wanted. They're just a hippy version of the Brownshirts, but at least the original Brownshirts wore brown because it was the color of the uniform, rather than an aversion to laundering their clothes.

Before you can do things for people, you must be the kind of man who can get things done. But to get things done, you must love the doing, not the people!

It would be helpful to stop calling them protesters and start calling them criminals.
