Clashes with police have been a hallmark of Occupy Oakland since October, when police made their initial clearance of a camp in front of City Hall that had become a gathering spot for economic injustice protests modeled on Occupy Wall Street.In other words, violence against law enforcement personnel has been a hallmark of Occupy Oakland since the first time they were not permitted to do whatever they wanted. They're just a hippy version of the Brownshirts, but at least the original Brownshirts wore brown because it was the color of the uniform, rather than an aversion to laundering their clothes.
