    What are they teaching in high school history classes, these days?


    Then again, young people all talk about how difficult it is to get admitted to college these days-if this is the competition, my 12 year old niece should have no problem when the time comes.

    One of my favorite Kevin McCarthy stories:


    [A] guy named Bob calls in, just back from attending family get-together for his sister Judy's graduation from UCLA ....

    Family is talking about giving Judy a special vacation for her graduation present....old uncle Harry suggests Hawaii....

    Judy pipes up with "Uncle Harry!...haven't you heard?....they HATE Americans in Hawaii!!!"

    Brother Bob can't believe his ears and says "Judy, duh---it's HAWAII!!"

    Judy snaps right back with "well, duh....PEARL HARBOR!!!"
