Update: Suspect in Girl's Kidnapping Arrested

(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) -- A 29-year-old man was arrested on Friday for kidnapping a girl who escaped.

Officials say Jose Garcia was arrested after police conducted a search in the area where Calysta Cordova escaped on Friday morning. Cordova went missing on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. near Columbian Elementary in Pueblo. She escaped after Garcia used a restroom at a gas station.

Garcia, who has a criminal record, was arrested at 1 p.m. in Colorado Springs. Further details on his arrest were not available.
